Punkbuster had absolutely nothing to do with the VAC ban.
Steam support also doesn't care how you got banned. They assume you lie and they are not obliged to find out and tell you how you were banned. Steam support is pretty bad. EA support seems like you are talking to the most helpful people in the world compared to steam support.
Exactly, I love seeing this sh i t! Surprisingly noone else but you wondered if OP maybe just tried to cheat but was caught immediately lol, BUSTED! These naive world-peace sheeple automatically assume he is innocent and give advice right away how he can best appeal it. lol
There are a bunch of other ways to disable the fleet in FTL lol. Cheat engine is probably the dumbest way to do it.
2nd question :- is the mp for this game active enough or should I only expect to get a good campaign out of it?
No they will not get you banned from any game.
And yes the multiplayer is very very active.
