The Type 4/5 was already discussed, either in this thread or another. None of them ever made it to any battlefield of the war. The problem with the rest of the weapons is that - just as you and the video mentioned - they're rare. On top of that, anti-tank weapons wouldn't be of much use since there's no American armour in-game yet, and the majority of weapons like the Type II and their flamethrowers were used mainly in China and other parts of south-east Asia.
Having a pistol that's a bit better than the Nambu would be nice though, at least.
The Fallschirmjägergewehr 42's first production model was not used into combat untill 1943 in the raid Gran Sasso (Operation Eiche) to rescue Mussolini.
Only talking about these ones as they only want to use weapons that were used durring the Battle of Stalingrad. But now we know that at some point soon, we will get the Maschinengewehr 42. I would LOVE to see the Luger P08 though.
Did you know that there is a HEAT grenade for the Japanese in the Rising Storm beta?
There's also a fully rigged Japanese tank and bazooka in the game files. Japanese tanker uniforms as well as anti tank uniform accessories for both Japanese and American teams as well as Japanese Sapper equipment.
They were gonna have tanks. But didn't.
United States Of America:
M3A1 Sub Machine Gun
Bazooka
Boys Anti-Tank Rifle
Empire Of Japan:
Type 94 Nambu
Type 97 Tank Heavy Machine Gun
Type 97 Automatic Cannon (Anti-Tank Soldier Weapon)
Type 95 HaGo only from what someone has mined. Plus the Americans are the only ones with a dedicated AT weapon, in this case a Bazooka.
Boys was hardly used by the Americans, and the finalized M3A1 was used more on the Western Front. It was also produced in fewer numbers (before war's end) than the Type 100, which people already complain is overrepresented.
Type 94 could work I guess, but apparently it wasn't exactly a great design. It was also produced in comparatively much fewer numbers than the 14, and it uses the same cartridge. Type 97 MG I don't see a need for, either...it has a lower magazine capacity than the current Japanese MGs and still has the 7.7 round. Type 97 weighed around 50kg or 110 lbs. unloaded. Like the current AT rifles in game, it also had issues taking on later-war armor.
I like weapon variation as much as the next person, but not when said weapons are redundant or even worse in terms of general stats. Unless you wanted to make them the default class weapons, I suppose, and require players to level up in order to get access to the current weapons.
