Suggested Weapons for Rising Storm and Red Orchestra 2
Hello. First of all i would like to start out by congraulating the devs on the most realistic World War 2 game that i have ever played in my life. A war game where i can finally input real life tactics! However, as i was playing the game i noticed they did not include some weapons that were used by each faction during World War Two. I created the list below of some of the firearms that i think should be implemented into the game in the future, this is a list for basically the devs to choose from. I would love to hear your feedback on some of the weapons below, and yes i do understand how difficult it is to create a firearm for such a detailed game like this, but again, it is just a suggestion list.

United States of America:

Colt Model 1903 Semi-Automatic Pocket Hammerless (.380 ACP) (Another U.S. Pistol that can be chosen by the player, in real life it was used by officers):

M2 Carbine (Able to go Fully Automatic, .30 caliber) (Could be added as an Assault type rifle for the United States)
IMAGE: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c0/US_M2_Carbine.jpg

M3 Sub Machine Gun (.45 ACP and 9x19mm Parrabellum) (So players can have more variety in the Sub Machine Gun section)

Soviet Union:

IZH-43 Double Barreld Shotgun (12 Gauge) (Could be the first Soviet shotgun to be put into Red Orchestra 2)
IMAGE: http://huntershop.ro/produs/arme/baikal/izh%2043%20EM.jpg

Mosin Nagant M44 Bolt Action Carbine (7.62x54mm) (Add more variety to the Soviet rifle selection currently, this would be lighter weight rifle, easy to carry):
IMAGE: http://www.freewebs.com/historyofww2/mosin-nagant%20carbine%201944.jpg

Nazi Germany:

P08 Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol (9x19mm Parabellum) (Used by officers mainly, could be a third pistol for Nazi Germany)
IMAGE: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e0/Parabellum_1586.png

FG42 Parratrooper Rifle (7.92x57mm Mauser) (Assault type rifle and a paratrooper rifle as well)
http://collectorebooks.com/jamesauction/subguns/image2/34632x1.jpg

MP-35 Sub Machine Gun (9x19mm Luger Parrabellum) (Could be used as an alternative sub machinegun)
IMAGE: http://olegvolk.net/gallery/d/40577-2/MP35_5537.jpg

Imperial Japan:

Type 26 Revolver (9mm) (Another Japanese sidearm)
IMAGE: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/03/Type_26_1539.jpg

Type 44 Cavalry Bolt Action Rifle (6.5x50mm Arisaka) (More (Also has a bayonet located underneath the barrel) (Lighter weight, easy to carry, another alternative rifle)
IMAGE: http://www.kirkemmerich.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/Japenes-Rifles-f199-200-018.jpg

Lunge AT Mine: The Japanese should also have an explosive type suicide weapon because towards the end of the war (1944-1945) for them, they started to turn to these gruesome suicide tactics like Kamakazis and these mines.

(Decided not to add rocket launchers)

Again, please supply me with your feedback and i apologize for not being able to create a massive description for each gun because i am currently running a forum on the Dayz Forum Website on the suggested weapons that the community wants in that game. God Bless!

My Dayz Community's List Of Suggestion Weapons Thread: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/172276-the-communitys-list-of-suggested-weapons-for-dayz-standalone-version-124/

The Type 4/5 was already discussed, either in this thread or another. None of them ever made it to any battlefield of the war. The problem with the rest of the weapons is that - just as you and the video mentioned - they're rare. On top of that, anti-tank weapons wouldn't be of much use since there's no American armour in-game yet, and the majority of weapons like the Type II and their flamethrowers were used mainly in China and other parts of south-east Asia.

Having a pistol that's a bit better than the Nambu would be nice though, at least.

Problem with the M44 is that the first ones to be used were 50,000 test versions in 1943 and fully introduced into combat in late 1944. Could use the Model 1938 carbine though.

The Fallschirmjägergewehr 42's first production model was not used into combat untill 1943 in the raid Gran Sasso (Operation Eiche) to rescue Mussolini.

Only talking about these ones as they only want to use weapons that were used durring the Battle of Stalingrad. But now we know that at some point soon, we will get the Maschinengewehr 42. I would LOVE to see the Luger P08 though.

Really hope they are considering adding new armaments for other nations.

Did you know that there is a HEAT grenade for the Japanese in the Rising Storm beta?

Explains why the Japanese explosive is that AT mine.

There's also a fully rigged Japanese tank and bazooka in the game files. Japanese tanker uniforms as well as anti tank uniform accessories for both Japanese and American teams as well as Japanese Sapper equipment.

They were gonna have tanks. But didn't.

Theres just no way that they would work on nearly all of the maps. To many trees, hills, and objects to get the tank stuck on. I could also see a lot of friendly fire from the HE shells. I'm glad RS does not have tanks.

They would make maps to accommodate tanks. New ones.

I guess they could. You mentioned that there were files for tanks, unifourms, and weapons, Any idea what tanks they were and what AT weapons there were other then the ones you mentioned? I could only guess the Americans having the M3 Stuart, but no idea on AT weapons, and the Japanese with the Type 97 Chi-Ha, the type 3 HEAT grenade (as is in the beta via console commands) and the type 99 mine.

The addition of tanks to RS would enable the possible addition of more firearms

United States Of America:

M3A1 Sub Machine Gun

Bazooka

Boys Anti-Tank Rifle

Empire Of Japan:

Type 94 Nambu

Type 97 Tank Heavy Machine Gun

Type 97 Automatic Cannon (Anti-Tank Soldier Weapon)

Type 95 HaGo only from what someone has mined. Plus the Americans are the only ones with a dedicated AT weapon, in this case a Bazooka.

The Type 95 Ha-Go makes more sence I guess. Nothing on the American tank that would have been used? I would have liked to see how the Bazooka would have worked, and the effect on tanks it would have had.

Man, I'd love to see a tank in RS. Especially since giving defending ♥♥♥♥ a tank would help negate their disadvantages whilst defending.

faster leveling for grenades and add the fragmentation sleeve to the stalheingranate (may have spelled that wrong forgive me)

Boys was hardly used by the Americans, and the finalized M3A1 was used more on the Western Front. It was also produced in fewer numbers (before war's end) than the Type 100, which people already complain is overrepresented.

Type 94 could work I guess, but apparently it wasn't exactly a great design. It was also produced in comparatively much fewer numbers than the 14, and it uses the same cartridge. Type 97 MG I don't see a need for, either...it has a lower magazine capacity than the current Japanese MGs and still has the 7.7 round. Type 97 weighed around 50kg or 110 lbs. unloaded. Like the current AT rifles in game, it also had issues taking on later-war armor.

I like weapon variation as much as the next person, but not when said weapons are redundant or even worse in terms of general stats. Unless you wanted to make them the default class weapons, I suppose, and require players to level up in order to get access to the current weapons.
