Many guns just unlock visually more polished - purely cosmetic - versions. I usually go with the stock guns or have not noticed any unlocks even if I'm running with them already.
And the game might be better off with this, because it should be about shooting people and stuff and not about unlocks. That's my opinion at least. If you want to play this game for unlocks better move on to another. If you want to know if this game is plagued by unlocks-based imbalances (i.e. if people win you over with unlocks): no.
I agree with the poster above, the unlocks are not overwhelmingly cool but it's a WW2 game, and it's meant to be a little more realistic. I think of the unlock and ranking system as a means to give more privileges to "better" soldiers, which probably isn't too far off from how it was (don't quote me on that lol)
yeah i get trying to amke it realistic and it is world at war, just thought there might of been some sights or scopes or uniforms or helmets, but still a great game played like 6 hours straight today died a lot but the challenge of trying to get across the river on a certain map makes me play more. 10/10
