Allies can't win a campaign anymore
Usually I will play as either axis or allies until a campaign is won, even if I don't finish a session I will join the same side the next day.

But lately I can't seem to get off allies at all. It still used to be bad, I would spend less than a day on the axis side and win a campaign, maybe a day or two on allies.

I've been stuck on the allied side for 5 days!

It's like all the veterans will just go axis, every damn time. When I join axis side there are far more people speaking on mic, using tactics etc.

Is this just because all the German players who have been playing since the game started are still the only hardcore players left? I don't know, but it is ruining the fun for me.

You can see it all the time, it's the only side where you see "x player has joined allies" "x player has joined axis" they can't play without it... sad sad people. That makes the team full and noobs are cooler than them so they just autoassign and end up allies every time.

Perceptions, the campaign game is strategic as well, not just a run and gun game. When you defend you actually defend, dig in, die in place and stop attacking the attacker, they are up and moving, you are down and in cover 3 to one loss rate for the attacker usually. We win as Soviets all the time by bleeding the Germans out and playing for time, the lockdown timer is your friend. And if you are attacking and screw up, back off, let the lockdown timer end it with minimal casualities instead of fighting to '0' tickets giving the defender maximum points.

The German preference is not hard to beat, a good SL coordinating and sequencing the artillery, troops who listen and act as a TEAM, and momentum in the attack, dug in defense in the defense Soviets win just as much on the servers I frequent.

The German PzKw IV is 'paper', the long burst MG42 runs out of ammo quickly, and the uniform does not blend with anything so movement is easy to see. Like on Bridges, on start in Defense, use the river as a Trench, spread across in a true down and defended skirmish line, and you slaughter the Germans in the open going to A or B. SL has atry on the burning T-34 radio and the troops heading to B run through the initial arty barrage, you can equal or get ahead of the Germans in tickets before they take either A or B, if it is done right.

And a good TL with mic, 'radio hugging' and playing 'chess' with the blue dots and issueing clear and concise orders with explination of who, what, when, where and why, gets it done.

Herdin Cats as I call being the TL of a Team of new players is an art form, get their confidense and explain how to 'have' fun, show them things, lead by example, soon you have a true TEAM able to beat any staxis team.

I am aware of the tactics to win, but when it's a completely random team sometimes it can be hard. It's just the culture of this game, veteran players will join the winning side and stomp the allies because all they want to win while they feel superior.

I see some very good team leaders try for an hour or so to get the team motivated and they always give up. It's just impossible, if the team is ♥♥♥♥ then it is ♥♥♥♥.

It works both ways, I have seen the German side loaded with individual 'expierienced' player not acting as a TEAM as well. Too worried about their individual stats to actually Team up and win. The game is random, and always has been. The CoD mentality still exsists out there. Notice my player name I play Soviet because of the challenge, I do not get frustrated at the Team, Leaders seldom do even in real life, you lead by example and the 'cats' will follow. That means LEAD not run around throwing smokes and letting the TEAM run around blind with no information on what to do, where to do it, and when it is needed. Get on that radio, keep your TEAM informed, and guide them, if you are running around throwing smoke and not actually LEADING, that is you first mistake. I am olkder than almost all the players in the game (66), I play the game to keep my mind active, I was an Infantryman for 23yrs, a Senior NCO on retirement, I do not get frustrated at the TEAM, the failures of the TEAM are my fault as I made the mistakes but not communicating effectively, once the confidence is built, we roll on to win as the players now understand and follow to win, it takes time and patience with youth and showing the players the TEAM game is more fun than the individual game of stats and weapon upgrades.

The perceptrion is the Germans have all the cool toys and no one wants to play Soviet, the equipment is not that different, and if used right can handle anything the Germans throw at them.
explain why the DP27 needs a two man 'crew' to keep it supplied with ammo, where to hit the paper armor of the game PzKw IV, why you are ordering this or that, whether it is your or jhis artillery flying and where it is going. All the things leaders do. If you are running around just 'doing your thing' and the TEAM is running around 'blind' what do you expect?

I'm not a veteran by any means, but usually if I play a side that is breezing through a campaign I'll switch if I can. It's more fun fighting desperate battles of attrition than it is fighting steamroller battles.

It's been almost a week. This isn't a question about tactics, not at all. It's about all the better players all choosing axis every damn game without fail. I don't know if it is also because new players choose allies but whatever, allies have lost every single campaign I've played for the past 6 days.

Sounds like you're playing in the Merills server. Last night the Allies steam rolled the Axis in WW server, but there's still days when all the Wehraboos are out in force.

I play the UK ones, where it has UK in the title, mostly for the ping. Is that the Merills server?

Also, what is a Wehraboos lol?

Allies won campaign on a [RD] server last night. So perception is just that perception based on server. And pretty sure most of the troops on Soviet were pretty new as I only recognized a few names, where as usual knew several on German side. Again it is not hard once you get the confidense of the TEAM, and show them what works.

It is funny the names the wehraboos come up with as well, most have no clue what their name actually entails.

Our group takes semi historical names for both sides, as well as 'rank' based on our server/group requirements.
