Kicked from game because of invalid packet ?
Like the title says, this just happened to me and I'm a little annoyed to say the least. I've played the game less than 100 hours and for me to be in a game, approaching 130 kills was making me dizzy lol But then the game kicked me and lost the progress and XP etc So can someone please tell me WTF does "Kicked from the game because of invalid packet" mean ? After I'd been playing for about an hour, I guess my packet was ok before hand. Is this just another game that sucks on Steam ?

Bad wifi is the reason. I recommend cable connection whenever possible.

I don't use Wif Fi, I use Netgear and the broadband is strong. But if you're telling me that invalid packet is something to do with internet connection, then that is mighty strange, I usually have no issues. Another strange factor is both me and a friend got kicked from the same server at the same time for the same reason the other day, "Invalid packet" ? I live in England and he in Germany ? But thanks for the reply, I thought the forum was dead.

Is your computer connected to your router/modem with a cable?

Netgear is a system that passes the broadband through your electricity cables using plug in adapters that plug into the wall sockets, thus eliminating the need for cables running through the house (but my apologies if you knew about it). It's a system I've used for a couple of years and is widely available through computer stores and online merchants like Amazon. I have no issues with it, playing other games, connecting to steam, watching You Tube, downloading files and uploading videos to You Tube. I'm not understanding why the idea is my internet is the reason for the "Invalid Packet kick". Like I said, it happened to me and a friend simultaneously the other day and we live in different countries.

Netgear is a company, what you are referring to is powerline networking. Netgear sells all sorts of networking hardware including powerline networking adapters. Unless your PC is actually connected via wire (Netgear even offers a wifi powerline adapter) to it, you can still suffer from packet loss.

Ok just bad terminology, my apologies. I'll just stay away from the game if that's the case. Cheers for the info.

No need to stay away from the game, get a cable and plug you computer into the adapter.

Hmmm, a cable is plugged into the adapter. One from the Hub to the downstairs adapter and one from the upstairs adapter to the PC.

Not sure what to tell you, unless you are trying to play on a server half way around the world. Try a different server is all I can recommend, and one that is closer to you.

It's ok, seems it's just confusing. My friend and me have played on numerous servers in various parts of the world, even south American ones which meant a high ping but we both had no issues. The match I posted the original question about was on a European server and the ping was quite low, but I've been kicked a number of times from that server for that "Invalid packet". Well, thanks for taking time to try and help, it's appreciated.

use ping command to test your connection to server

There is a server I have had a similar issue with, I do not remember the name of it. I couldn't try a different connection as it was not my place where I was livng. I had had lag issues and packet loss using my cell phone and decided to not bother with that server until I got home. I had no issues with other servers though.

I have been getting this issue on every single server I have tried. I used to be able to play this game no issue, now I can't play for more than 5 minutes. Literally. I tested it. I am hardwired directly into my modem and have all ports setup correctly for this game and have tested my connect dozens of times and suffer no real packet loss. Not sure how to play this game anymore with this issue.

If you and your friend had te same problem at the same time, maybe it was the server who had a problem. Which server was it ?
