RO2 on MacBook Air with Windows 10 Bootcamp?
I'd very much like to buy this wonderful game, but I would like to know what kind of performance I should expect. I'm running Windows 10 through Bootcamp on my 2013 MacBook Air. Here are my specs in detail:

MacBook Air 2013
Version: 10.13.2 (High Sierra)
Processor: 1.7 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB

maybe 30-40fps

Really? Wow, that's more than I would have expected, although I guess that the Unreal 3 engine is a little old. Thanks for the feedback!

Also, would that be on high, medium, or low settings?

very little performance difference between graphic settings, just turn foliage down as its noting to do with textures just draw distance.

I think your processor may be a little light on... if you can overclock it do so.

I would try it in low with high or medium textures, also you can try 800x600, but yeah the game may not look that good.
I used to play it at 1024x768 on a old 4650 ddr2 and a core 2 duo everything on low and with high textures, and the game ran 30-40 fps, now you have an i7 and a hd 5000 which benchmark say its better than the 2008´s 4650, so you should be able to get the same or better frames

Okay, how would I overclock a MacBook Air?

Alright, thanks! Yeah, I kinda wanted to play at 1440x900 or at least 1200x800, so hopefully it will run fine for me.

Also, is there like a free demo that I could download to test it out before I buy it?

You could install dirty bomb or americas army proving grounds, they are both free games made with the same engine.

Now I do remember testing all 3 of them with a potato, if I remember correctly I still think ro2 would run the best and proving ground the worst but I think they are still good indicators of your performance in ro2.

Alright, so Dirty Bomb would be the closest thing to RO2 in terms of performance? (LOL, didn't realize that I had answered my own question. I'll try it out when I get a chance, and thanks!)

What happened? I've never heard of that story.

Okay, I tested out Dirty Bomb, and on the lowest settings I was getting a playable FPS, although I had to turn on dynamic lighting to counter a few bugs. However, I may have gotten better performance if I ran it as an admin, and if I set it to high priority. How much better optimized is Red Orchestra 2 than Dirty Bomb so I can determine what kind of framerate I should expect?

Forget it.

Mac Books aren't made for gaming, as simple as that. If the game runs, it would be completely non-enjoyable and even if you would overlock your MacBook, it would just be a matter of time until it breaks down and the game wouldn't run much better anyway.

You want to play video games? Get a gaming laptop not a MacBook.

I didn't buy this computer, it was a gift from a friend. Would overclocking it put my computer at risk?
