The MkB42(H) was considered a 'machine carbine' no the later term for the StG-44 'Assault Rifle' the 'Sturmgewher'
Arm the lazy with a concept and they assume. And other than a few for evaluation there were no real issue of the MkB42(H) in the game time period Aug 42-Feb 43, and only a total of approximatly 10,000 were ever made, another keep the 'fan boys' in game 'happy' weapon.
The point being complaining that people are ignorant on niche information is a very dumb thing to complain about.
And yes, the design and producation history of the Mkb.42 and later the MP43/MP44/STG44 is absolutely niche information. Furthermore complaining about people saying STG/MP vs MKB is borderline arguing semantics. It would be 100% semantics if it wasn't for the design differences between the two, though the intended role of the MKB and the later MP/STG was absolutely the exact same. To fill the role of machinegun and rifle.
The ability to access information today and then the ability of the 60's when the board and chit wargames became popular just baffles me that players today do not understand the concept of the games along with the why's and hows. The old e-room chats filled with people educating each other on the wars, the battles, and the how's and why's seem to be long gone.
Today players come on board, armed with a 'hollywood' perception and little or no understanding of the reality, and then get frustrated that their perceptions fall short when the do encounter skilled and knowledgable players. So their answer is a demand for more 'toys' to somehow balance their perceptions, hense the MKb42 and MG-42 in game, and the smoke solves all problems in game thinking.
The game replicates combat on the Eastern Front late 42 early 43 pretty well for a game. The combat of the era was pretty brutal, and the weapons were in transition. Infantry Anti-tank was rudimentary, now a perception that the Anti-tank rifle was still a viable option, totally counter to the reality, purely for a 'balance', and educating the less than knowledgable player that the ATR was effective, where then opposite was the reality. We constantly see the what about this or that, again totally out of the realm of the reality, month long battles within the whole overall battle are fought in 45min rather than the months the actual encounters took. And the total lack of comprehension as whole battalions of manpower in game are just sacrificed for the game mechanic.
Understanding the history is the first step to a 'realism' the game states is the goal in 'realism' servers.
Most people nowadays are indeed ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ too lazy to make a google search, but here you're just acting like a ♥♥♥♥. Looks like you're just acting mighty because you knew something he did.
Also Red Orchestra isn't really what i would call realistic. Immersive, probably, but not realistic.
A simple search of simular articles concerning the MKb42(H), within this forum, this and many more questions have been asked more than once. Trick is actually knowing what you are searching for "SGT-44' does not exsist.
