"Speed Hack Detected"
Doesn't matter if I move or not, doesn't matter if my ping is 40 or 600, I always get kicked for Speed Hacks, despite the fact that I am not hacking in any fashion. It's getting really old fast, getting kicked out of every game I join within 10-20 seconds. Anyone have a fix? I already know it's not my internet, but generally this was caused by high ping in the past.

Server owners can disable it, it's not ping related. I played with 600-1000+ ping and I have never been kicked due to speed hack, it's due to poor connection, mostly Wi-Fi or the server is struggling. If you use Wi-Fi change to cable.

Then I have no idea. What servers are you trying to play on?

"I use Cable"
Just to be clear IAmNotMatthew means that your PC needs to be directly connected to your modem or router with a cable. The speed hack issue is most commonly caused by packet loss not ping or actual hacking. The most common culprit is poor WiFi signal or a generally bad internet connection. If you are directly connected trying running a packet loss test.

Why is there so many of these threads?

Because most server operators aren't turning this feature off. Through either neglect or failing to see it doesn't actually work.

It's only useful in a competitive enviroment.

My router is on top of my PC, with a cable running directly to it... Hadn't thought of running a packet loss test, although this is the only game where this is a constant issue(I get occaisional spikes on EA games but... EA...)

Any ones with less than 120 ping, which leaves me with a healthy spattering. Hard to name any one server, as I don't play as often as I used to.

Other games don't have a handy dandy speed hack prevention feature. If you can't isolate what the problem is your best bet; as someone said above is to stop moving and go prone until it stops. That will usually prevent you from being kicked and keep you alive.

It happens even when I do not move

I see it rarely. Its not from having high ping or low ping. Its from having high fluctuating latency. The game is really good at making 64 players with pings ranging from 50-300 opperate fluidly and as one. WHen you have a high fluctuating ping thats bouncing say between 100-300 spiking up and down its gonna hamper the whole servers system for balancing lag. So instead of warping across the map as you would be with that ping spike, you get kicked because you basically port from point A to point B with no running and thats detected as a speed hack.

You are saying it happens when you dont move well the fact is that you cant move with 500+ ping lol.

This game opperates amazingly well with masses of 70+ people with pings rangining from 50-300. The hit registry is simply outstanding for this massive scale fps game. There has to be features that remove the really bad laggers from servers. Since the hit registry seems to be determined by a median average of everyones ping on the server ( this is the only reason russians with 200-300 ping can play). So when you have unstable ping bouncing up and down you are a heavy load on the server and will be kicked.

I generally stay below 80ms on the majority of servers I play, and rarely jump above 120. This would be valid if I were getting 80ms+ spikes

Well when its spamming you with Speed hack detected its prob not registering your 1000 ping on the score board so u get the speed hack msg. at 120 ping when ur game is prob frozen at 1000. Its directly related to ping and how steady your connection is. There isnt some random feature thats kicking you on your system because it thinks your speed hacking. It all has to do with latency.

Again, my latency is fine. Even did a packet loss test today and it's all fine too. This is literally the ONLY game I have that kicks me, aside from a few EA games, which, considering their potato servers, is expected. That's why I find it so strange. I'm most certainly not using any game-altering programs, so it's not that. Plus, it will happen sometimes the second I spawn. I'll spawn and it will IMMEDIATELY tell me I'm speed hacking. Don't even have to move. This has only started happening within the last week or two as well, so it has left me genuinely confused.

how do you know what your ping is if you cant even enter and look at the scoreboard
