remap a hotas for this game
How the actual F@#k do you map and SAVE your changes to a joystick????????

I can make my selectings, literally fire 1 and fire 2, that is all I want, be there is no way to save these settings.

Considering putting my fist through my monitor.

Any help would be appreciated.

What's your HOTAS? Use whatever software came with it and I would do it from there. Keybind your HOTAS to whatever inputs you want - just make sure that they're the same as the in-game keybindings or change the latter to match.

You are playing the 'Special' Windows version right? not the 'Classic' or 'Collectors' (there is no in-game remapping in the DOS versions)

If yes, go to the joystick configuration window and then:
  • First, press a button on the controller/joystick; it will show the CURRENT binded command
  • Second, WITH YOUR MOUSE, browse the available actions using Next/Previus page if necessary, and click on something else to change the binding.
  • Rinse and repeat for all the buttons, then click 'back to options', everything it will be saved

If i remember correctly the game will recognize a limited number of buttons, something like 16/20, and no additional axis except for throttle and x/y, so for everything else you need to rely on your HOTAS profiler software
