I have a good setup using steam's controller button binding. However, I can't roll the ship which makes this game unplayable. Any suggestions other than buying a flight stick?

By default..rolling should be mapped to the 2nd fire button and some x-axis +/-...if u can mimic that in your button setup u might be able to get it to work.
I tried gamepad to..with mixed results tho..
Ultimately the short thumbsticks don't really have enuff precision for the dogfighting and the game gets increasingly difficult fast.
So a simple joystick is the best way to play in my opinion.

unfortunatly there is no button two. The key bindings register using button one in the game control settings but it wont actualy do the trick. Every button on the controler is button one plus some binding.

Bind two keyboard keys to roll left/right in the game, then use the Steam configurator to bind your chosen DS4 controls to those keys.
