can't turn down volume

Does anyone know how to turn the volume down/mute the game?

I'm on a Mac, and i like having this in the background while I'm on my zoom classes for idle motion to help me focus. the only issue is every single time, the volume is ear-achingly loud. when i open the menu, i can see the vertical bar with the music note above it, but i cannot for the life of me manage to turn the volume down without muting the sound on my entire computer. if anyone knows what's causing this and how i can fix it, please help.

HI I was looking for help with this, hopefully after almost 4 years you figured it out butyeah that little music note icon you actually have to pull it down.
I spent far too long tapping it and its little arrows
