Five Nights at Freddy's 3

Theory: Springtrap's Jumpscare
I think there's a reason as to why Springtrap's jumpscare is "tame" compared to the manner in which the hallucinations jump out at you. Perhaps it's meant to hint at the fact that Springtrap is more than a mere robot? After all, Purple Man's body is inhabiting the suit. If the souls of his victims were able to possess the animatronics, why couldn't he do the same?

What do you guys think? Is he nothing more than a robot that was programmed to scare the crap out of people in the horror attraction, or something more?

I think it was a design choice to get us focusing more on the horror of his appearance (human parts strewn within), but it fell short of the mark due to it not being remotely scary. The double jumpscare is by far the most effective imo.

There is that, too.

maybe it is because he was an adult and the others were kids?

Yea, he's a killer, not the kids who seem to think scaring the adults is just jumping in their face and going "Boo!". Notice he sneaks around a lot, and is always peeking at you, calculating his next move before he kills you...

He's a creepy little fluff, that's for sure.
