Peggle nights sound issue.

Hello. I played this game back when it was brand new and was delighted to find it on steam when I felt a nostalgic desire to play it again. Upon purchasing and downloading the game everything seemed to run just fine. However there was no sound during startup. After starting the first adventure I discovered that the music was running just fine but no sound effects. I tried restarting the game and even uninstalling it and downloading it again but that seems to have only made things worse, as I now have neither music nor sound effects. Can anyone offer suggestions as to how to rectify this? Thank you.

Did you manage to fix your issue? I'ma having a similar problem; I downloaded peggle extreme and now some of the audio in both peggle nights and deluxe is broken

Okay, the way I managed to fix it is by going into my system audio settings and messing with those, apparently my computer was struggling to play mono channel audio, and peggle has a mix of mono and stereo sound. (I needed to change my computer audio from surround sound to stereo because it was struggling to play mono channel sounds for some reason and peggle has a mix of mono and stereo audio)
