This game doesnt work in proton Linux
Invalid command line parameter: -changedir

Is there a fix?

Yes, you just need a little configuration fix as described here https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/340
Right click on Peggle Nights and open Properties>General>Set Launch Options add -changedir in the text line and confirm with Ok
