Quarters in career mode are always 15 minutes

I've tried setting this up a few times, but to no avail. The quarters in career mode games always end up at 15 minutes long. I've set the quarter time to 3 minutes, 4 minutes, and 5 minutes, but this changes nothing. Is this intended? Is there a work around or a patch incoming to fix the issue?

Player career will always have 15 minute quarters.

The quarter time in career settings relates to when playing as a team.

No it does not make sense! Why would you do this? Maybe it works if you're being subbed out a lot but when I got really good I was left in the whole time. I eventually quit because I'm not playing a full hour for each game, that's insane. I consider my career now broken and unplayable.
