Spellbind Not Working

So I recently purchased SpellBind while it was on sale. Excited, I started the game up heard a split second of music play, then I got the message Spellbind is not responding. This happens every time i go to play it. It looks like a hidden gem game and I'm really dissapointed. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Can someone tell me how to fix this?
