Steam Link Mac issues

Hi, I recently got myself a Steam Link but since I'm on a Mac I cannot update the audio pilots, the update screen pops up but I can't even interact with it, so no update possible.
I've seen people mention a command line to skip the streaming drivers, however :
1 - I don't know how to use it, nor how it will affect my gaming;
2- I will buy a steam deck soon, so would this command also impact me streaming from the steam deck to the steam link or not ?

If there's anything else I can do to solve this issus, please do say so :)

Same here with MBP 14" M2 Pro, maybe Valve could provide the installer individually?

yea, go to preferences => interfaces => then opt into the steam beta by selecting it in the drop down. once you do that your client will reboot and then you can try to connect again

Was able to install the audio driver after opting into the Steam Beta. My TV gets stuck on a loading screen while my Macbook opens up Steam Big Picture mode though.

After streaming, the host mac auto set output to Steam Streaming Speakers, but the client get no sound from host, but client app's sound effects works well itself.

That's exactly the issue i have. Is there any workaround yet?

I've tried using the beta but still no sound going through the iphone's steam link app. Also, my controller connected to my iphone doesn't seem to work either. Everything worked perfectly in my old intel macbook though.

I was experiencing this no audio issue.

I deleted Steam and the Library/Application Support/Steam directory, reinstalled steam, switch to the beta, and successfully connected once, still without sound.

Now the Steam Link app recognizes the Steam PC, but doesn't connect to it at all :(

EDIT: ok, now it connects successfully, but then the Steam Link App crashes, or the Steam Beta crashes - usually, but not always both, crash while the loading screen is still playing on the Steam Link.

I'm running Steam Android on a Samsung A7-lite SM-T220.

Quite a bummer, since I have no other way to play my games right now but via Steam Link.

EDIT: Switching back to the non-beta version, I'm able to stream, but still with no sound.

I'm in this same situation. Everything works (though slowly with video lag) except sound. I can't figure it out. I think it's just broken.

I'm seeing the same issue. Apple M2 to Steam Link hardward. Successful connection and successful driver installation on Mac. But I cannot get the sound to be streamed.

Well it’s April and this is still happening - late 2022 MacBook Pro, 2022 iPad Pro, still with the failure to install audio update. I’m running the current IOS and Mac OS Sonoma.

Hey, any progress on the issue?
Have the same trouble, was able to install the audio driver, the sound is fine, but the tv is stuck on the loadind screen with tips.
