Steam Link Apple TV audio output
I use a HomePod as the speaker for TV and it is set as default for audio output. When Steam Link starts up, it switches to the internal TV speakers, there doesn't seem to be any option to redirect the audio output. Apparently, bluetooth headphones work fine so I'd guess this is an issue with AirPlay. I wasn't able to find more info on this elsewhere so figured to ask here. Does Steam Link not support AirPlay? Are there audio output restrictions perhaps?

This is likely done on purpose. With AirPlay speakers, there is a delay of maybe one second. You don't notice this when you play videos because the video is delayed to sync with the HomePod, but with games that need near 0 lag you will notice some massive audio lag using HomePod as speakers for your Apple TV. Bluetooth doesn't have this problem as bluetooth sacrifices some audio quality for significantly less latency.
