Enhancement: Support alternative layout for button-emulation on MFi controllers.
Menu button position issue

By default, the SteamLink app offers to emulate buttons missing on MFi layouts by the combinations:

Chord Emulated action ---------- --------------------------- Menu Open Steam overlay Menu + (A) Start button Menu + (B) Select button Menu + (X) L3 (Left Thumbstick Click) Menu + (Y) R3 (Right Thumbstick Click)

However, on device-mounted controllers (Gamevice GV150 specifically) this combination isn't viable. With the "Menu" key being on the right hand side, pressing these combinations isn't possible in any convenient manner, especially since the buttons need to be pressed simultaneously.

Please enable a simple way to re-configure this, e.g. to "Menu + digital pad directions".

For some games, where L3 toggles sprinting, "Menu + any movement of the left stick" might be more suitable too.

As far as I can tell, it is not possible to resolve this issue with the controller configurator myself, as the button emulation happens on a lower level; The menu-button can't be used explicitly in the configurator. Depending on the game, it may be possible to use unused buttons, but that's rare.

Timing issue

Currently, menu-button and (A,B,X,Y) have to be pressed simultaneously, which can lead to a number of failed attempts, as discussed in the thread [MFI Chords Not Working?]

This could be resolved by treating the menu key as a modifier key: Pressing it twice, would then open the Steam overlay, while after pressing it once the next press of (A,B,X,Y) or digital pad would act as the (Start,Select,L3,R3) emulation.

I had no problems remapping these with the 'Steam Button Chord configuration' in controller settings. I don't think the buttons are emulated at a lower level, they are set there.

I don't believe you can map double clicks, though.

I would avoid MFi controllers (and I think this will be a non-issue) once iOS 13 comes out as well, since the PS4 and Xbox One controllers support L3/R3 natively, as well as the back/select button.

Since I am playing the streamed games within Bluetooth range of the PC mostly, my interest isn’t MFi in itself, but the idea of turning the tablet into a kind of PC-backed Switch-like device. As far as I can tell, there are currently no non-MFi controllers with a similar design. (I sent the gamevice back though and ordered and actual Switch instead, since the convenience just isn’t there to make it worthwhile.)
