Pi5 - Bluetooth connection issues with controllers

Hey,

I've been trying to get controllers working with BT on the pi5. I can get my switch pro controller working (initially via emulationstation connection that carries over into steamlink after I close emulation station I assume). I tried to connect a new controller via bluetooth, via dongle but no dice - I only managed to get it working while wired (which was when the Switch controller was turned off so I don't even know if that'd interfere).

I also noticed during use the Switch controller will randomly lose connection and have to be re-paired.

I'm using a Nyxi Master P1 as my second controller - probably a bit too obscure for anyone to have on hand, but has anyone had issues connecting two controllers to steamlink via pi4 or pi5?
