Steam Link

Steam Link and RetroPie
So I installed Steam Link via RetroPie's experimental packages and it's showing up correctly on the banner under "Ports". However, I'm unable to get it to launch fully. It just stays stuck on the "Launching Steam Link" screen and never progresses. I'm using a PS3 Bluetooth Controller connected via USB. Not sure how to get this thing started, or how I can help debug the issue I'm having to help move progress along, but am willing if you can direct me.

This is on a RaspberryPi b3 using Stretch.

Thanks

Update: In-case anyone else has this problem. The fix is this.

In /dev/shm/runcommand.log it states:
Parameters: Executing: /usr/bin/steamlink You have overscan_scale=1 in /boot/config.txt, which will cause a black screen when starting streaming - aborting. Press enter to continue:

You can change the overscan_scale=1 to a 0 and save the file and it will boot normally. The way I did this was hit F4 on my keyboard from Emulation Station to bring up the console. From there type:

sudo nano /boot/config.txt

scroll to the very bottom of the file and you should see the overscan_scale=1 listed. Update it, write it out (save) and it'll drop you back to the command line. Type 'emulationstation' to be brought back to Emulation Station. From there, launch the Steam Link app from your Ports and enjoy :)

New issue now. After syncing everything and getting it to work on the Pi, when I attempt to stream it says "Not supported" on my TV. Note, this is a message from my TV and not Steam or the Pi. So I went into the settings and updated the settings to 1080 as my TV is not a 4K TV. Still doesn't work, even dropped it down to 720p with no luck. Not sure why this is failing from here.

I got the error about overscan_scale=1 a couple times but the third time SteamLink booted fine. It also seemed to have put a # before that line for me. I went to do it myself just for good measure but it was already done, and at the very end of config.txt.

Update: I managed to get it working great! You just have to poke around in the video resolution settings to find a resolution that works for your TV. This is awesome! Thank you for bringing it to the Raspberry Pi!
