Steam link app non steam game controller support
I've noticed that when I want to use the steam link app to stream my non steam games to my phone or tablet it doesn't register my controller. Whenever I open up the non steam game on the steam link app it only show support for a keyboard and mouse on the virtual touchscreen controls and and I can play it like that but not with my controller. So I was hoping it could be updated to have us choose whether or not our non steam games are controller based or keyboard and mouse based that way whenever I plug in my controller to my tablet I can finally be able to have it work as if it was a steam game.

I‘ve the Same Problem With every Non-Steam Game. I use my AppleTV for Streaming.

My XBox Controller is working Fine in every Steam Game nur in Non-Steam Games only Mouse and Keyboard are emulated

The non steam games work perfectly if your controller is plugged into your pc but it'd be better to use it on the device you're streaming it to since an occasion might occur where you can't use the room your monitor is in and have to rely on the app. But yeah an option to choose if your non steam game uses a keyboard and mouse or a controller would be the best solution for us.

I tried some non-Steam games via Steam Link, mostly console emulators and old games that work with controller, and all of them work just fine, all of them get the controller input from my Shield TV android box.
As far as I know, you must enable Steam overlay for NON-STEAM games as well. Once it is enabled, everything seems to be working. Once I disable the option for overlay for non-steam games, the controller input is gone.
P.S. I use Xbox Wireless controller.
