I can't use my ps4 controller in the steam link app
I pair my controller to my phone and i can use it on other apps. But i can't use it in Steam Link. The app says that i have a ps4 controller connected but i can't control the app interface or while remote playing.I tried deleting and re-installing the app but it didn't change anything.Im using a Samsung Galaxy A50 with Andoid 11.

This may be an issue of the controller profiles or other settings. Reconnect the controller then go through all the app settings and see what you can discover.

Try making sure your PS4 controller works like expected on streaming host pc. Check the Steam Input settings for game and for controller layout, to compare what happoens when using controller through Steam Link app There are known issues with latest Steam beta client and PS4 controllers so opt out of beta client on streaming host pc. ref: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/SteamClientBeta/discussions/0/3046108141463688987/

Your PS4 controller not working through Steam Link is indicative that Steam Input is not configured appropriately or there are issues with the virtual gamepad driver that Steam Link is trying to use.

We can configure Steam Input to override the default virtual gamepad driver used when using Steam Link app and get your controller using same configs as when using PS4 controller directly hooked up to streaming host pc.

1. check controller layout and general controller settings are configured appropriately.
Compare what happens and/or what is shown on host pc and when streaming using Steam Link app in General Controller Settings found in Steam client settings.

2. configure Steam Input from library launchers to be forced "on" which will let you choose configurations for your controller.

All you should need is a known working layout and a known working config to get PS4 controller working through Steam Input , even when using Steam Link app.

Connecting a mouse to your phone will make redefining layout process easier.

Whenever i have had issues with controllers not working like expected through Steam Link app on android all i had to do was redefine a layout and configure Steam Input to get working controller.

Can you just use touch controls on phone to start streaming session? If you can, access controller settings from inside Steam client and share screenshots of your defined layout and Steam Input config with just your PS4 controller connected.

This solved the issue for me. I have another PS4 controller plugged in via USB to the PC, and when I connect via Steam Link, the controller connected to my iPad won't work. If I physically unplug the controller from the PC and then reconnect via Steam Link, the controller connected to the iPad works fine and I can game remotely.

This is unfortunate, because I always have a controller connected via hard wire to the PC, so unless I remember to unplug it, looks like Steam Link won't be working for me. Haven't found any other solution so far.
