Razer Kishi Right Trigger inverted
I've used a few different controllers on my Pixel XL and Pixel 4 XL and they all work great. I recently tried a Razer Kishi on the latest build of Steam Link Android. I've noticed the Right Trigger value is inverted. It's always registering as down/1.0 while it's untouched, and up while it's held down. All other buttons and triggers work as expected, but RT is inverted.

This behavior happens all throughout the Steam Link interface, including in the controller test menu.

Other Android games and Game Pass streaming are able to correctly read input. Steam Link seems to be the only app with this problem. This behavior exhibits across multiple devices and versions of Android. Here's an easy example of a website that can read all Kishi input properly: https://gamepad-tester.com/

Let me know if I can provide any more useful information.

Thanks!

For the future: I managed to get this resolved on my own.

After clearing data from, and reinstalling the app, I went to Settings -> Controller -> and then tested the Kishi. I noticed that the RT button was "up" as I expected, but would forever stay down once pressed and released.

With this, I went back to the controller binding/setup, and very carefully rebound each button and trigger to their expected values. It took two or three tries, but in rebinding the controller multiple times, I found that the issue was eventually fixed, and that RT would only register once actually held down.

Hopefully this helps someone out there. Try rebinding the controller/button settings in the Steamlink app a few times until you get your desired results.

I have this problem with a Sony DualShock controller (ps4). It's a Sony Xperia 1 ii, so sony controllers pair out of the box. It's on Android 11 now. I'll try clearing the cache and remapping multiple times. I've already tried remapping once. It happens with both triggers.

For the ps4 controller, I think it need to be remapped with the triggers held completely down, otherwise it would see the initial pull as a press, and then further pull as release?

I have a slightly less powerful Xperia 5 II and I bought a Razer Kishi yesterday wondering what games would play with the kishi. I knew obvious games like Fruit Ninja and swipe three puzzle games would not be advanced to function with the Kishi. Here are my questions...(and I have searched...for about two hours). How can I determine if a smartphone game is compatible with the Kishi? There doesn't seem to be an option to button map a Kishi either. Now why should this matter? Because I have to appease the steam gods too. Steam games on mobile work as long as you're close to your signal. Steam link? I downloaded it. What does it do? And Octopus? What the heck is that too. I've tried to contact steam...razer...playstore...etc...etc.... I'm hoping someone could give me the answer to this snarl of password resets and endless searching. Now only do I only have a basic understanding of video games but I also have to do all the hard work and try and learn on my own what I'm actually doing...arrrggghh! It makes no sense....why advertise smartphone compatibility and not include a list of games and a button mapper. Thanks

Thanks for this! I bought a controller repair kit just to tear it apart and try to fix the spring or something, because for me it's the left trigger and mushier than the other. So I stuck a bit of cardboard in there to firm it up and put it back together and it's still having the same issue.

Checking the bindings in Steam Link is the same for me; there's a blip on the trigger when I first press it, and then it goes to "off" while the trigger is down, and anytime I release it Steam thinks it's being held down. I rebound everything once, but I guess I'll just keep trying. Weird that this seems to happen with Kishis.
