Slow response on Android TV with Dualshock4 v2
Hi, i just tested the steamlink app on my android tv sony bravia xf75 and the input latency feels very high. It shows about 25-30ms but controller is very unresponsive, especially in Rocket League. I tried the controller through USB and BT, still same response, very heavy and slow ingame. Output from controller is only about 40kbit/s which is so low when i compare it to steamlink hardware. Resolution in game was 1440p and 1080p. When i played on fullhd the latency was little bit lower but it control feels nearly same. Any help or update on this? Thnx

put the tv to game mode, and disable all video processing on it

I have the exact same problem with my ds4 + sony bravia TV. Video processing is as disabled as can be.

If I connect my laptop to the TV it's actually playable but directly, trough the Steam link android app, it's pretty bad.

same problem with keyboard the controller seems irrelevant.

The inputs actually seem to be registering right.
If I'm looking at the host PC with the controllers connected to the client everything plays right.

I think there is some problem with the decoding/image processing on the TV even when everything is turned off.

I am playing only with game mode set on my tv. Its the input which is bad. Today i tried playing on same tv with steamlink hardware and its much better. The problem is probably in output traffic from controller. On Steamlink its about 110 kbit, so its twice faster respond time. And second problem, the controller is recognized as an android controller in steam and not as DS4. It says PS4 controller only on start of the android app but not in steam big picture mode settings.

bitrate(your 110 kbit) is likely irrelevant for response time. It just means it's sending more information, probably because it supports more controller functionalities than the TV(things like the gyroscope and touchpad information).

To check input lag you need to have the controller connected to the client(either the TV or the steam link hardware) and be looking at the host's(your gaming PC) monitor.

In my case I can see my inputs beeing reflected on the host monitor with pretty much 0 latency.
But there is a pretty significant delay between the image in the host monitor and on the client.

There is clearly an issue with the image processing on the TV side. When I have another PC connected trough HDMI the delay stats are more or less the same. But the latency is a lot better.

Trough the steam link app on the TV its unplayable. Running on another computer and connecting it to the same TV works as expected and it's a pretty decent experience.
