Steam Link on Amazon App Store?

Anyone know if there's a chance of the app hitting the amazon app store?

amazon apps are a year ot two behind google store apps

google doesnt really care what goes on the store
amazon does, but it takes alot longer to put stuff there and get updates for them

if steam offered the latest apk that can be installed on amazon/kindle it would be nice

You can install google store on kindle. I did it and it works! Look it up on youtube. It even updates after installing the apk and other files needed.

I tired that but on my amazon fire phone and it said my android phone version is too old.

Isn't the Android Fire Phone still on Android 4.4? I'm pretty sure that Steam Link requires Android 5.0 or later anyway. (And 5.0 is still several years old; consider that the current Android version is 8.1!)

The Fire tablets and Fire TV have more recent versions of Android which, in theory, would work, but I suspect the Fire Phone is a non-starter.

That's what concerns me. I might be ♥♥♥♥ out of luck with such an old version of Android.

Yeah, unfortunately, I think with the Fire Phone you're out of luck. Even if you got the APK from elsewhere and installed it, I expect it wouldn't run due to the old version of Android.

Several people have grabbed the APK off of other devices and tried it on Kindle Fire tablets successfully, or else have installed the Google Play Store on their Kindle Fire tablet and gotten the beta that way.

The problem is that not all Kindle Fire devices are running recent versions of Android, so I imagine it really comes down to which "Kindle Fire" you have.

I have a galaxy tab 4 7" running Android 4.4 KitKat and the link app doesn't support it. My phone is Android 6.0 (marshmallow, iirc) and it works on the phone. Albeit with lag because I am not using 5ghz router.

I tried downloading the app through the google play store app on the kindle fire 7 hd. It wouldnt make any connection because it had an invalid port. Thanks for the suggestion anyways

I have tried that on that the Fire HD10, It was working fine. I installed the play store app first and download the steam link for there.

But for some unknown reason, the battery consumption is massive. I am not sure what cause it, it could be other apps I installed. Factory reset it after that.

I hope so too. I have no issues with my Firestick 4k, so it would be convenient to not manually have to install the newest apk manually.
