Missing Mouse Cursor on 2020 Samsung TU8000 55"
I have been troubleshooting this issue over the weekend and I'm not getting anywhere. My devices connect fine, the steam link app streams fine, but I am missing my mouse cursor on desktop and specific games. Here is what I have done:

I have made sure the displays are running at the same resolution
I have made sure my scaling is at the recommended 100%
I have an extra mouse and keyboard plugged into the host computer
I attempted using Mouse Keys as an alternative

These solutions have not worked and I am still missing my cursor on the desktop. I am also missing my cursor in games like Halo: Master Chief Collection, Risk, and Sid Meire's Civilization VI. Strangely I am able to see the cursor in the games Stardew Valley and DOOM Eternal. I'm unsure why there is a discrepancy between these titles.

For the time being I have turned on Mouse Trails for desktop use, but this doesn't fix the problems in the games I listed. I am hoping for a resolution, I was really excited to try the steam link app on my TV and I can't get it to work for some of my favorite games.

Any help is appreciated, here are my system details:

Windows 10
AMD Ryzen 3700x
Radeon RX 580 Top 8GB
Corsair RAM 16GB 3200Mh
ASUS Prime x-370-A MOBO

The only games i have my cursor missing from 1 game, and going to desktop , i have a mouse but in game no mouse , its thier just no icon , the only game i have trouble with is pro cycling manager 2019 ( waiting on refund as not wasting my personal time a whats probably a conflict ).
I even reinstaleld pro cycling manager 2014 and got exactly the same thing , this only happened when i amde an account , before making the account mouse was fine.
no other game i have has this problem , i really wanted to play the tour de france , disgusting that games coders are sticking with technology , they used to push technology now thier retarding technology.

I also have this issue. I have a Samsung TizenOS TV. I use the steam link app to play Steam games from my PC. Works fine with the Steam controller but I have an invisible mouse cursor in game and out of game, Does anyone know if this is a Steam link issue? or a Samsung Tizen issue?

Same issue here. One detail to add, the mouse pointer IS visible in the Big Picture interface itself, but not in the actual Windows 10 desktop and not in several games. As in the OP, some games are fine. Any fixes?

So, what I have been doing for the past few months is keeping my phone nearby. I turn the steam link on my phone, turn down the sound and light, but keep the steam link on. For some reason, the mouse cursor is present when both the steam link on the Samsung TV and the phone are running. I'm sure this slows the connection and I'm sure this isn't the best way. I get pixilation on the main screen sometimes. I solved this to an extent by matching the resolution on the TV and the Phone and streaming the phone over 5ghz wireless.

Thank you so much for this!!!

Listen up peeps!!! !f you are like me and just bought a brand new 2020 Samsung TV like me (mines a Q80T 55") then for now this is your only solution, but it works for sure! After scouring the interwebs for days and trying every single solution to get my mouse cursor to appear on my TV I finally stumbled across this reply as for mentioned above. I've tried everything from cursor trails to mouse keys and everything in between. It seemed like most people had their issue originating from not having a mouse plugged into the host but that was never my issue, I believe the problem is with the steam link app on the brand new Samsung 2020 models of TVs. I highly recommend that everyone with this problem issue a ticket to both Steam and Samsung to try and get this resolved and just use this "phone hack" to get around it for the time being. I've found it to be actually beneficial in my situation at least because I often just use Steam link to watch movies and tv shows off my desktop, so having my phone streaming too allows me to get up and leave the room and continue to watch my favorite shows with out missing a beat and having to pause while I (for example) go and make food. I know it sucks knowing that if you have the newest and most bestest TV your Steam link might not function properly but I have faith that it will be patched soon seeing as it seems to affect new models as far as I can tell. Trust me I'm in pain too after spending 1200 bucks specifically on a TV that supports steam link.

I too have a Samsung Q80T and have this exact same problem, went through what you went through and only this method seems to alleviate the issue. Unfortunately however it's not a sustainable method due to phone/tablet battery getting drained. I hope Samsung and Valve will solve it soon enough as I went out of my way to buy Samsung specifically for Steam Link app and I didn't have this issue on my older Samsung TV from 2016.

Oh and enabling mouse trails also makes it work, both stationary and moving.

Exact same problem with Samsung TV 2020 TU8005K 55",

Update: Yes putting mouse trail to minimum seems to work as a fix for the windows desktop but once I am entering inside a game like "Green Hell" for exemple, pouff no more cursor again.

Any idea ?

steam support said that they will fix it in next future. we have to look on beta client updates.

Same problem here on TU8000 50". Back in the middle of August support also responded to my ticket that they could recreate the problem and to watch for a beta client update. I would strongly encourage everyone with this problem to file a support ticket. I suspect it won't really get attention unless they realize many people are affected.

I have to use a second steam link source when playing games like this. So I get an old phone and run it over 5gz and then I get a mouse cursor on my primary display. You have to fiddle with the resolution to make things work for your personal set up. Again, not a perfect setup. Hopefully we will see an update in the next future running beta.

What's this 'mouse trail'? Is that a TV function, or something you need to enable on Steam? And where can I find it in Steam? Googling mouse trail steam isn't really helping. Thanks!
