Do I *need* a cable for Meta Quest 3?

Despite the cost I think I've decided Meta Quest 3 is the VR headset to buy but do I *need* a cable to connect to the PC? It is another £90!! On top of the £480 headset cost that's too much if I don't really need it.

Steam's help recommends a wired connection from the pc to the router but how many people can really do that when most phone lines come into a hall or living room. My pc is in the opposite corner of the house from the router so I have no chance. But I don't see mention of the headset to pc cable.

you cannot use cabled link with steamlink, the cable they talk about is ethernet cable from your router to pc.

have pc connected through ethernet, not wifi, for steamlink.

Thanks for clarifying. As I mentioned I don't have a cat in hell's chance of connecting my pc to my router via cable as it's in the opposite corner of the house but I've just played for the first time and it worked.
