Upper body tracking / AI legs estimation support for Steam Link on Quest 3?
The Quest 3 recently got upper body tracking support, as well as AI legs estimation. Could Steam Link expose this as trackers to use in SteamVR for games such as VRchat? Or is there any technical reason why this couldn't be done?

From what I can see this could be used to add real FBT trackers for wrists, elbows, shoulders, torso, and maybe waist (unsure), as well as estimated trackers for knees and feet.

(ideally, each tracker should be able to be disabled or enabled individually. this would allow to use the Quest 3 to track the upper body, and then relegate leg tracking to something else like a Kinect or SlimeVR trackers, thus achieving 100% fbt)

Virtual Desktop just launched an update that adds support for body tracking. Sadly, they only forward the data via OpenXR, so the feature is effectively useless as it can be used in literally zero games.

Hopefully you can implement this as SteamVR trackers so that the feature can actually be used by people. Please :)

Hey at least they are trying. Support could change soon. I wish Virtual Desktop would use the Index Controller Emulation for the Quest Controllers and Hand Tracking like ALVR offers. Maybe in time.

I dunno what Steam Link VR is planning on features. Nothing on the beta side
