In the meantime, it looks like the discord automod didnt remove the link. So you can head to the post i made on the discord forum, and download the audio there
There is no noise cancellation happening on our side that I'm aware of. I've tried recording and playing back many times and in many configurations.
In the beginning when you say "With the same settings as last time" do you mean Discord is targeting loopback or Discord is targeting the "Steam Streaming Mic" or does it target loopback?
One thing I am wondering is if somehow Discord is trying to record in some way that incurs buffer drops that trigger it to auto-mute.
The only thing I have so far you can try is to, once streaming, try manually changing the sample rate and seeing if it has any impact. You can go into sound settings, go under "Steam Streaming Microphone", device properties -> additional device properties -> advanced -> default format. It should be 2 channel 32-bit, 48000 Hz. But I am curious what happens if you try overriding it to something else.
I don't have any firm recommendations here yet, but I've sent out feelers.
i made sure the audio device was set to what you recommended, and then tried pressing the windows return to default settings button, and recorded tests for both here (lets see if the automod likes google drive instead of mediafire lol): https://drive.google.com/file/d/15JGPvLZQEsfndfhWcRzLWW9k7L93AtG4/view?usp=sharing
even if i manually change the audio device settings, when i disconnect my headset and then connect again it's back to the "correct" one you recommended.
I'm using a quest 2 if that somehow changes anything compared to quest 3 or pro, but this whole thing is very strange. I'm actually trying to sell my quest 2 to get a quest 3, so i can test if it still happens then
VRChat reads my mic just find with no issues but when I try to use it with discord it cuts out very frequently.
Did you find a solution? I thought about trying to route it through VoiceMeeter but I haven't tried that yet
