Need help with Error 216

Hi, whenever I connect my headset to my PC via Steam link I get error message 216: Session mismatch displayed on my headset and am prompted to restart the app.

So far I've tried restarting the app, rebooting my HMD, reinstalling SteamVR, reinstalling steam link on my HMD, and updating my graphics drivers. I haven't seen any info about this error anywhere. I haven't been able to use steam link at all and would really like to try it out, any help would be appreciated.

Edit: I'd like to add that the router that my HMD connects to is directly wired to my PC.

What order are you starting things that you get this error? If launching directly from the headset, it should not happen, or, if you start Steam first, then SteamVR on your host PC, it should be able to connect directly through.

I have steam open on my PC, then I start steam link on my headset, and then SteamVR launches automatically.

Have you tried waiting up to 10 seconds? Does it allow you to continue eventually? Can you post the exact text of the error you are getting?

Have you tried restarting the app, but continuing to allow SteamVR to run on your desktop?

The exact text I get with this error is

"Session Mismatch
Your headset session does not match your host's SteamVR session. Please restart the app."

Waiting does nothing. I can only exit.

I tried restarting the app with SteamVR still open and managed to get Steam Link to work, but I still get the error if I run Steam Link without SteamVR started.

Other than what I described in my last post, no. I haven't tried to use Steam Link since and just use Virtual Desktop.

I had this error but it was error 466, i was trying to start American Trucking Simulator on steamvr and the only way I got around it was loading the game through quest link app on pc. After you boot the game on steam itll show up on quest app then you can boot it from there.

Ive got it to work by going in remote play settings and enabling all devices at the allow direct connection setting

傻逼v社更新了电脑上的steam vr但没有更行quest 3 商店里面的steamlink，你只能要么删除steam vr，然后下载，然后直接进入离线模式。这样steamvr就不会下载安装包，维持旧版本。这样就不会出现版本不兼容了，要么你只用quest link，不过questlink做的也是一坨屎。还是按照你爹我说的做吧。
