No audio steam link quest 3
Hi,

I'm not getting any audio on the quest 3 via steam link. The debug tool even says no audio.

I presume steam streaming speaker is the correct audio device?

Any thoughts?

Well, based on the number of people reporting this problem, I'm guessing posiibly a software conflict of some sort.

As you have sound working, can you advise more details of your setup / what VR realated software you have installed on your PC?

Trash Steam Link. There is an update on my Quest 3 when i powered it down now. Just FYI, maybe that will fix it.

The SteamVR beta branch was just updated with a few fixes for common Steam Link audio issues. If you're not getting audio or microphone, you may want to opt into the beta v2.1.9 and try that.

The beta works for me, from a sound perspective... except Steam VR now crashes all the time.

In oculus audio device in windows sound settings be sure to turn off exclusive control. That was my problem. After a steam link reset I got audio.

That may have fixed it for me. I did that and switched back to the non-beta Steam VR and it works... but I'm still getting crashes all the time in Steam VR.

Same nothing i do fixes it. I had a feeling this was too good to be true. Last time I messed with steam link for an Arcade I had it didn't work for that ether and it was the same thing the sound doesn't work.

Same, and the other post is not solving my issue.

Same for me. Sometimes there is a fraction of the sound but its just like 1hz quality for less than a sec.

Resolved crackling audio by reconfiguring Steam Streaming Speakers in Sound settings in the old school control panel from 7 channel to Stereo.

For anyone else still experiencing issues, please update to the newest SteamVR release (2.1.10) as well as opting into the Steam Beta Client (under steam options, under the "Interface" option) and restart Steam. Let us know if your audio issues persist.

(Quest2) This fixed it for me, as SteamVR also now popped up a notification for disabled audio devices. Additionally I now have have 2 steam audio devices on both the playback & Recording section of the WIndows sound manager. So 4 in total, I guess for bidirectional streaming ? I only used to have 2 in total.

If you don't have steam streaming speakers and microphone as a sound option in Windows 10, then you can use this to add them. It may help.
