Black screen after taking off hmd

Anyone else is experiencing this? For the most part it works fine but taking off the hmd for a couple of minutes, the hmd screen turns off and when you put it back on, the screen wakes up but only black screen shows up in the hmd and monitor.
The Steam overlay do pop up sometimes when you press the button.

The only way to fix this is to restart the Steam Link app but this also shuts down Steam VR so I lost some progress. I'm using the Steam VR beta.

We think we've got this tracked, and are working on a fix. Could you please let us know if this is happening in any games in particular (what game were you playing when you noticed this happening?) or if this is happening in just general use of SteamVR?

I've only tried with Boneworks and Beat Saber so far. I'll try testing other games and see if it's also an issue by just being in the steamvr menu.

im using a friends account and trying to play the walking dead saints and sinners but when i try to launch it just turns black and then goes back to steam home can anyone help

You might need to make sure that SteamVR is set as the active OpenXR runtime. You can do this in SteamVR Settings > Developer "Set SteamVR as OpenXR Runtime".
