Steam link and Internet provider

Hi,

Maybe is a stupid question but I am wondering if steam link is connecting to the oculus device directly via the modem or the Internet speed connection matters as well. I was wondering this because I have a wife 6 but my Internet connection is just a 5G, meaning I can't get beyond 250Mbps at home. If it is the speed of the router which matters and not the throughput via public network than it should be fine, but this is still not clear to me. Do you know which protocol is used?

Steam Link can only run over LAN. The speeds only have to do with the connection speed and link quality directly between the PC and the headset. Internet is only employed to pair the headset to the host PC.
