Steam Link

Filezilla is unable to connect to Steam Link
I have been trying to connect Filezilla to my Steam Link so I can add roms to RetroArc but whenever I try to connect to the Steam Link via Filezilla, I get the error "ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server." Any help?

you have to enable the ftp server via console, can't remember the command but i think it might have been mentioned in the sdk

Protocol: SFTP
Port: 22
User: root
Pass: steamlink123

You need to enable SSH first
Various functions can be enabled by putting a file in a certain location on a FAT32 USB drive and booting the Link with it plugged in. Create directories as needed.

/steamlink/config/system/enable_ssh.txt (Just create a blank file) - Enables SSH until next factory reset or removing /mnt/config/system/enable_ssh.txt

Now half of the time I get the message "Network error: Connection refused" and then every other time I get "Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity"

Try to connect using WinSCP and not filezilla, also, remember that to powercicle the SL (to install the ssh file via USB), you have to unplug it from the power and not just use the software "shut down" function.

Now the only error I get is this (from WinSCP) "The server rejected SFTP connection, but it listens for FTP connections.

Did you want to use FTP protocol instead of SFTP? Prefer using encryption."

That's weird, try to use FTP protocol on port 21.

You should definitely connect to the steam link via sftp ( which is basically ssh ). Enable ssh on your box first as is mentioned above. Connect to it as a test with ssh ( putty if you are using windows ). Once you have done that configure filezilla to connect to it. I personally would recommend winscp if you are on windows.

Using FTP worked for some reason.

I have the same problem...
I created those file in my fat32 pendrive (tried with empty and non empty file as well)
I pinged the ip address and returns well.
I tried with putty, filezilla, winscp with port 21, 22 and tried with steamlink and steamlink123 I did all of these combinations, and always connection refused.

so i been trying this for days and i cracked it today, the "enable_ssh.txt" file cannot be blank, so open the txt file and type whatever you want and save it and you dont need to put a port number, also i changed my ip to static for my self
