Steam Link

Steam Link

Link PC to PC crashes at Network Test
Trying to connect my 2 devices but it is failing on my client device every time at the network test. App just crashes and closes every time whether I select start connection or test network in the app.

What I have tried:
All bandwidth limits on both devices.
Updated all drivers on both PC's
Redownloaded Steam and Steam Link using the latest build zip.
Unlink and relinking devices.
*All devices on the same network, main PC is connected via ethernet and the client is on wifi 6e.

What works:
I can open link fine one way to my main desktop from the remote device but not the other way around. Tried all variations of setup.
I also works from my main PC to my work laptop.

So my guess is the issue stems from the client device, its a Windows 11 desktop with an i5-9400u, 16gb ram and a gtx 970. Host device is a windows 10 desktop with an i7-7700k and a gtx 1080. My work laptop is windows 11, only difference is Pro between main/laptop and target client device is home.

Can provide more detail upon request. Works great on my network on all the other devices I have, excited to get this working around the house.

on the client
get the correct drivers, and update bios from the mobo mfg site
chipset, audio, lan

can you ping the client pc lan ip from the host pc?
ip should be 192.168.same.different
if the router is isolating them it would be forcing remote play to use internet relays
your upload and download bandwidth for what should be lan traffic
