Half of tv is blacked out

I had this issue when I first started using it on my TV. Changed to auto fill resolution from host and gave host permissions and it fixed it. But for about a month now it went back to blacking out half the screen from the top of TV down to a little over half of the TV. Everything under that I can see. I'm on a 72 in streaming thru my directv streaming box that makes my TV into a android TV basically. I've tried basically every setting in the remote play area and can't get the TV to stream correctly anymore.

are you using the steam link android app on the tv?

tvs do not have gigabit lan port, only 100mb/s, which is not enough for steams remote play at 4k
using the link app menu before connecting to host, go to settings and limit res to 1080p
and on the host pc, steam -> settings -> remote play -> change res to match client
in some games, you will need to set the res to 1080p
