Steam Link

Steam Link

Huge shipping costs in Europe
Are you being serious ? I wish to pre-order the Steam Link and Steam Controller bundle and the shipping costs are 33 EUR ? This is like 1/3 from the cost of the product. It is unacceptable. Is this being delivered using a Ferrari ?
The right thing you should do is create a storage center somewhere in Europe and deliver the goods from there. I am not interested in an express delivery service and I am willing to wait longer for the delivery instead of paying so much for the shipping. You should at least allow the customer to choose between express and standard delivery times.
Anyway, I stick to the idea that a regional delivery center should be available in Europe, this would decrease shipping costs for customers.

I don´t understand why such a huge company as Valve can´t have store or anything in EUROPE. What the hell? More players are from Europe than from AMERICA. I dunno why USA ppl think they are something more or special and that they have better government and rules or sth, as was stated above.
Valve could be easily compared to any other company as big as blizzard for example. And one simple question is here. Does Blizzard have their store only in USA? Does blizz have such crazy shipping costs? Answer is = NO. And don´t tell me that Valve does not have money to open simple store in Europe. Actually, they would earn more money cause more ppl would buy it without stupid shipping sh.t.

For some reason, i always thought Valve was from France. ;)

Anyway. Steam Link is months from release, and expect local online shops to stock Steam Link on release.

unfortunately, they are not :( :D
But I agree that local online shops will probably get Steam Links so it will be easier to purchase them W/O additional shipping costs etc

33euro? Thats the kind of rate I would expect from company based in another far off country that mainly does business in that country.

Not a world wide online distributor like Steam, that's ridiculous. That's just bad custermer service, especially considering that you're one of their biggest consumer pools and they have the money and resources to give you a better rate.

Get it from 3rd a party based in your country like Ventilator says, or better yet, used.

It is outrageous. I had big heavy parts shipped for a lot less than this :steamsad:

Combined with shipping, it almost cost the same as a NVIDIA Shield TV Console/Media center in a local store which also have Steam TV Mode + Chromecast, 3.GB RAM, The fastest ever Android GPU.. Tegra X1 etc. as a bonus.

The >20 EUR delivery cost to Latvia for the controller made me sad. Was about to press the buy button, checked the price again, and wtf
V3ntilator 1 dec, 2015 @ 7:08
Noone have imported Steam Link here, so i bought another Shield TV instead on Black Friday sale as it didn't cost much more than Steam Link if i imported that myself.
Shield TV is sold everywhere in local stores here.

Steam Link with no Gamepad, shipping and taxes, cost as much as 2/3 of the price of Shield TV including Gamepad and the expensive Remote.

Wanted to order Steam Link and Controller to Latvia. Saw shipping cost of 43 eur. No, thank you! Are you serious? Can't you at least bundle them in a single shipment?

This is not nice. That is absolutely insanely huge. I bet there are a lot of people who really want the Link and the Controller but all get a huge kick in their face when they see the shipping costs. It is outrageous. 30%+ from the actual price of the products.

Yeah, the shipping costs are ridiculous. 15 eur to Sweden for the Link.

Good thing that Gamestop sells it too, bought one there over the counter for 59 eur.

If i knew Gamestop got Steam Link, i would buy one too.

Instead i bought a secondary NVIDIA Shield TV to use as Steam Link due to high shipping costs of SL.

i live in romania and the shipping was 16 euro
V3ntilator 25 jun, 2017 @ 6:55
A major online store here sometime started to stock SL now, so shipping is only 3-4 bucks.
