Modded Minecraft (Java) on Steam Link

Helo, I have a few questions, I received a Steam Link quite a while ago and haven't really used it, but I would like to see if I can play a Modded Minecraft Modpack on the steam link, also I have a 4k Samsung TV with Tizen that has a steam link app, would there be much of a difference between the hardware version of Steam Link and the app?

the link hardware is limited to 1080p
the tv can do 4k but needs a host pc

you can sideload some apps on the steam link hardware (linux)
for the tv just get the app from its store or install the apk (android)
