Edit:
Copied from an Amazon review:
"Here's how to set it up:
1. Go to Device Manager
2. Select the "Unknown Device"
3. Choose to update the driver under the Driver tab
4. Choose the 'Browse for a driver' (not the exact words but close)
5. Tell it that you want to pick from the list of device drivers
6. Choose the "Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class" option
7. Pick the Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver"
After completing these steps, you controller should be able to connect to your PC. You'll recognize this by the chime sound when turning on the controller. Without restarting your host machine, unplug the adapter and plug it into your steam link. Ensure the link is powered on, and then hit the sync button on your receiver and the home button on your controller. Sometimes the home button will continue to show the revolving circle of lights despite it being connected, so test out some buttons so see it it's working correctly.
After this point, everything should normally, including vibration and the ability to power on the link by hitting the home button. Hope this helps.
Having said that, my replacement will be a cheap knock-off from eBay as they are 1/3rd the price :) Cant imagine it will be that much less reliable...
