Steam link Ps4 controller Bluetooth. How to connect??

So I used a wired controller to navigate through the steam link, I paired the ps4 controller and connected it but it still doesn't work even when it says connected? When I try just pressing the ps button to turn it on, the light just flashes. I read an article that said once paired, press the ps button and the light will turn on. Any ideas? Thanks in advance :)

As of now, I don't think the PS4 controller is compatible with the Steam Link. I had a hard enough time trying to pair and map out the buttons on my PS4 controller to my pc. Gave up and just got a cheap Xbox 360 wired controller. The xbox controller works fine on Steam Link

its ok i worked it out. ps4 controller is compatible wired and wireless. not sure for all games though, most games dont like the ps4 controller, its weird.. but yeh still works ive played gta 5, rocket league etc with it

Devine, I have the exact same problem. What did you do to resolve the issue?

I think it was about the timing. I paired the controller. then i held the home button on the ps4 and clicked connect on the steam link straight away after. after a few seconds of holding the home button it conected. try to be very close to the steam link when connecting. Let me know how it goes man :)

Steam emulates an xinput layer for the PS3/PS4 controllers. IF the game supports Xinput it should work fine.

I'm having this problem and can't figure it out. When it's paired I'll try to hit connect. It'll connect but the DS4 turns off. Won't turn on as long as it's connected. Then when it finally turns on the DS4 and it goes back to "Paired" status.

I just can't figure it out.

I held the PlayStation button and nothing.

Any tips?

Hey can you help me with what you did? I've been having the same issue and it basically makes the Steam Link unplayable on. I already have a PS4 with 4 controllers so buying different branded controllers sounds counter-productive. Thank you.

To link PS4 and Steam Link, you need to link a Bluetooth device and hold the home and share button. This is the DS4's default sync setup. After a few seconds, the controller should start flashing three times rapidly until you hit home again. This is just sending out it's signal saying it is ready to be paired.

Ok. So I'm trying to pair the PS4 controller with the Steam Link. I'm on the Bluetooth settings page. I hit the Home + Share button and see the light start blinking but it almost never shows up in the list of Bluetooth devices. Sometimes it randomly pops up as "gamepad" but it always fails to connect. This is a brand new controller.

I was just posting my own thread about how Valve needs to work out rights with Sony. The slide thing would be perfect as a mouse (like a laptop) and if it could send a power off signal to the controller, I'd be in heaven...

I think they'd rather sell their Steam Controller to you. So I wont expect it if I were you. :)

Ok, so everywhere I looked said to hit the Home + Share button at the same time. Finally found a source that said hold Share button down for 3-5 seconds before hitting Home button. That did the trick.

I was still having issues connecting even though I was in pairing mode. Thought I would update the thread. The reason it wasn't connecting was because I was in big picture mode. Have to exit out of that and go to the main OS screen for the Steam Link, then under the settings go to bluetooth.
