Controller issue in non-steam game Fifa 16

Hi all! Steam Link ist running great. I get it to stream FIFA 16 without any problem. The only and real problematic issue is that Fifa16 thinks that two controllers ( I'm using a wireless Xbox 360 controller with original microsoft reciever dongle connected to the Steam Link) are connected and so all my input gets doubled. Becuase of that even navigating through the Menu is impossible. (1x navigating right results in 2x navigating right)
Anyone can help me with that issue ?

edit: Okay here some further info: I had a virtuell controller installed by another streaming app called KinoConsole. I uninstalled it. Now I can start the game with the emulated mouse (Fifa 16 runs with an launcher) like before but then it won't recognize any controller but the emulated mouse+keyboard. If i instead start the game directly on my gaming pc by alt+tab out of big picture mode to the launcher and start the game, streaming of Fifa will start but then again the controles are doubled.

but it appears i'm still getting the wrong encoder. depending on ??? I get either 'Desktop DWM NVIFR' or 'Desktop BitBlt + ... + x264' but never NVFBC (even though I use the beta GFE with share mode enabled).

After the last update the encoder switches for me between various (nvifr / NVFBC /nvenc) too. But for some reasons that won't have an impact on the controller. They work now properly despite the active encoder. Now I totally don't know what COULD cause the double input. :-/

The AHK script works great to start the game, but I'm also having the issue with double input from my xbox 360 wireless controllers. Since I'm using a AMD GPU I don't have access to Geforce Experience. Any suggestions or should I just wait and hope for a fix?

Kind of frustrating since the only reason I got the Steam Link was so I wouldn't have to carry my computer to the living room when my friends are over and want to play Fifa! But I'm optimistic, it's still new and Valve is pushing betaversions almost everyday. Black Friday starting tomorrow, might pick up the Xbox One and forget about the Link for a while..

Man i feel you ! If the distance between your living room and your pc is not that big try connecting the controller directly to your pc... this is in no way a proper solution but the double input will be gone. I really hope valve will fix this in the future

I came across this link while googleing on the issue, did anyone try these steps? Might not even be related to the issue, but it might also be just what we need! Worth a shot maybe, what do you guys think?

Although the author of the blog says this fix is for non-original controllers, might work on original aswell? I don't know anything about XInput API or DirectInput though so this might be useless.

In black ops 3 I'm seeing the double controller issue. a second player is recognized and I can remove it but it comes back in 1-2 seconds. The end result is that you cant play the campaign or multiplayer without splitscreen

So...I have a solution, but it's really dumb.

On my machine, turning on a third controller fixes the first controller, and turning on a fourth controller fixes the second one. That is to say, turning on four controllers fixes the double input problem on my Steam Link with Fifa 16 100%. For whatever reason the third and fourth controllers don't double for me. You can leave any controllers you don't intend to use in the middle on the "Select Sides" menu to only play with the intended controllers.

I'm running with two Steam Controllers and two Xbox 360 wireless controllers.

Also, I turned on four controllers and then turned on all but the one identifying as #4 in game, and controller #4 never re-developed the doubling problem. That way I wasn't totally burning through batteries.

Another thing that works as a partial fix if you don't want to turn on four controllers (Or don't have more than two) is to use the mouse to choose the teams for the controllers. So, if I turn one controller on and go to the "Select Sides" menu I can't use the controller to pick a team because it'll move both of them. However, I can use the mouse to manually put one of the "two" controllers one a side. That then works in game. In the menus it still chokes, but you can manipulate the menus with the mouse and keyboard. If you must enter a certain menu with the controller, you can use the keyboard to line up with the thing you want to do, then hit "A" on the controller to enter. Obviously this only works if you either have a mouse/keyboard on your Steam Link or don't mind running over to wherever the PC is to adjust settings.

Like I say, both fixes are really dumb, but either makes the game playable for me.

One other weird thing I've noticed with Fifa 16 is that I can't alt-tab from my Steam Link once I launch the game. I have to go to my PC to alt-tab over to the game. Other than that it works fine now as long as I start 4 controllers.

I also connected a wired Xbox 360 to the host PC, but it is recognized as the third controller, so I still have player 1 and 2 linked to my Steam Controller.
