Steam Link
Virtualhere & Logitech Racing Wheel G25...
...sadly does not work. It is recognized on the client PC in the list of connected devices on the steam link (this was the moment when I thought "YEEEAAA it works!!!!"), but when I try to open the device I get this error message:

Error "Operation not permitted" (-1) trying to use this device (steamlink.local:7575)

Does anyone have more success using racingwheels via Virtualhere?

Regards from Germany
Mark

Hey guys, I just had an awesome experience playing Dirt Rally on my Link, using my G920 wheel! To help others, here's what I have setup:

1. Started link with both Wheel AND Xbox 360 controller plugged in. Plug wheel into a POWERED USB hub (without this, I had a working wheel but no FFB/Vibration)
2. Start game
3. Disconnect Xbox controller (at this point game entered windowed mode, a quick alt+enter fixes that)
4. Wheel is now seen by game, works in game and has FFB.

I think if you had a mouse or something it might work better instead of having to disconnect the controller, as I can use my phone as a mouse and things work that way. I also used the 'custom event handler' posted above, but I don't think it was necessary (i think the main issue was having the Xbox controller still plugged in).

Before you select 'use' in the VH Client first select 'Custom Event Handler...' and in there type the following without the quotes: 'onReset.$VENDOR_ID$.$PRODUCT_ID$=' and after that select use and you should be good to go :)

Ah yes i forgot about that workaround, if you right click on the wheel in the virtualhere client and add that custom event handler it should work..., once its done once the steamlink will remember the workaround

THANK YOU!!! :) Bastiaan, this is the solution. You are miraculous! I have no idea what it means and what it does, but it works.... nearly:

The connection via VirtualHere works, the FFB works (even without powered USB hub), but there is one thing that doesn't work: The clutch pedal is not recognised. The axis has disappeared and it cannot be assigned in any game. That's very strange to me because the throttle and brake axis in the very same device are fine, also the steering wheel and all buttons are accessible.

What the.........?!?!

Interesting, I received my steam link today and the first thing i tried is t use the G25 via virtualhere. Everything works as expected in my case including the clutch and the shifter.

I made a small video of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecNxOPcdSfs Although i enabled automatisch transmission for this video... :)

I do remember you might want to reinstall the logitech drivers for the wheel, maybe it is using the windows drivers and not the logitech one? I had that issue in the past and then there is no clutch and the shifter is missing also. Make sure you have the logitech gaming software installed on the host.

The Logitech gaming software is installed, but I can try to reinstall it. I don't know if the H-Shifter was there, but the paddles did work.
Just to make the information complete:

This is a screenshot from the logitech driver with the G25 plugged into the computer:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BxpQGd52cxfrNTJfN2Rwekg4bDg
The clutch axis is seen in the bottom left ("Kupplung"). The pedal is not pressed and the indicator shows to the left. The gauge works when I kick the clutch.

And this is a screenshot with the G25 plugged into the SteamLink:

The indicator shows to the right and doing nothing. First I thought the axis could be reversed but it is simply switched off.

I'm having trouble with my thrustmaster T150. VirtualHere recognises "Thrustmaster FFB Wheel" instead of "Thrustmaster T150". I went to device manager and manually installed the T150 drivers, but it still wont work through VirtualHere. On device manager it says under "Other Devices", "Thrustmaster T150 Racing Wheel (USB)" and under properties it gives me "This device cannot start. (Code 10)".

I'm using Windows 7 64, and the device is activated in VirtualHereHub.
