[Xbox 360 Controller] Stuck in Desktop Keyboard/Mouse Mode
Hey all,

Currently, when running any type of game, emulator, etc. I seem to always be stuck in keyboard/mouse mode, where B on the 360 controller causes the game to minimize into a windowed mode, pantomiming the Escape key. The Xbox Home button, instead of giving the Steam In-Game menu so I can end the program, boots me into the Steam BP screen with the game running in the background, audio and all.

Happens on several games. Also happens with Dolphin and Project64 (2.2).

Setup:

Steam Link > Wireless to an AP that's wired to my Gb Switch which is wired to my PC.

Controller: 2 Wireless Xbox 360 controllers, 2 Wired Xbox 360 controllers.

Also, it looks as though only the Wireless Xbox 360 controller can power on the Steam Link via the Xbox button. The wired controller which is directly connected to the Steam Link and powered up will not do anything to power it on.

This issue does not occur with the 360 controller plugged directly into the host PC, and everything works flawlessly on that end.

Some assistance on this would be fantastic. Feel free to ping me on Steam if you guys have any immediate solutions.

Thanks!

I have the same problem, did you find a way to solve this?

Try holding the Xbox button for several seconds. A change in the firmware a few months ago made this necessary as part of trying to keep the Link from responding to inadvertent input waking it up.

Make sure you are running the game from a shortcut added to Steam. This will allow the Link to pass your controller input along as a controller.

Does your emulator open games as separate programs? If so, Steam will only focus on passing your controller input to the initially launched software.
