Steam Link

Final Burn Alpha?
Is anybody using this? I can get it to launch as a non-steam game but I cannot activate the menu options.

Streaming on the desktop is fine but the it suffers from the poor framerate optimization streaming the desktop currently is having

-windowed
-sw neither will properly launch FBA

Any thoughts?

Retroarch's FBA core works through the Link.

I can't remember if the FBA core uses a console window by default, but if it does it needs to be disabled. You can either use the "-D" command line parameter[github.com] (although this doesn't always seem to work, depending on the core) or you can use a front end like Launchbox[www.launchbox-app.com] which has a handy "attempt to hide console window" option that you can enable for your emulators and it does work with Retroarch.

Yeah, sorry I probably should have warned you about the learning curve with Retroarch haha. It still frustrates me from time to time - there are some aspects of it that I think are a bit on the obtuse side. Once you get used to it though, it's a very powerful tool. The fact that it works very well in conjunction with the Link once properly configured means you already have plenty of emulation options at your fingertips from the get go. There are some platforms that don't have Retroarch cores (like Dreamcast) and some instances where the standalone emulator works a bit better than the Retroarch equivalent (like PPSSPP) but Retroarch is really great overall.

If you're looking for some additional emulation options, I discuss some of them in this thread. The Link is actually a very nice little device for emulation once you go through the admittedly annoying/time consuming process of getting everything setup properly.
