Steam Link
Wiimote and Dolphinbar
People seem to be asking if Wiimotes and the Dolphinbar work with the steam link so I had a go. Here are some things I tried and the outcomes:

Added Wiimote as bluetooth device
The pairing seemed to work and it says 'Connected', however I can't do anything with the controller in big picture or games.

Connected the DolphinBar to one of the steam link USB ports
On controller mode I had no luck at all. However, on mouse mode I was able to move the cursor around the screen (though it was constrained to a small box top left). This isn't surprising as it is basically the same as plugging in a mouse.

Faking it
The dolphinbar has an impressive range so I was actually able to connect through my wall using a second sensor bar. This was great, but doesn't really count and just made me want it to work properly even more.

I'll keep trying. I haven't fully understood how the steam link passes controller information across to the main machine yet. It seems unlikely steam will put any work into making the dolphinbar work as it isn't hugely popular, however I hope enough people want to use Wiimotes to make the bluetooth connection method worthwhile.

TL;DR no luck so far but I'll keep trying.

Any news from you? I wonder if I will be able to play Super Mario Galaxy with my wiimote on the steam link :)
I'll install the beta firmware and have another go this weekend.

Very nice, thank you. I'll do my test as well when I'll receive it. :happymeat:
I had another quick test on build 372 without success. One thing I noticed is dolphin doesn't detect my xinput (360) controllers unless launched from steam as an app. I guess the hooks don't get made unless done that way.

I've only tested directly connecting the remotes to the link this time, not with the dolphinbar connected to the link.
Please Steam, bring this function for us. Dolphin emulator; D
With the new beta, usb passthrough is supported so I gave it a go. When I let Dolphin scan for wiimotes, it crashes however. Has anyone else had better luck?

What did you try to make it crash? Mine simply won't detect the controllers in Dolphin
yeah I was just a bit impatient, it freezes up about for a minute or two when I click on 'refresh' in dolphin controller configuration (and in trying to make it unfreeze instead of waiting I would make it crash :p ).

Results seem to vary. Either locks up or refresh does nothing using VirtualHere. Either way, no luck :(
I got the Dolphinbar working with VirtualHere through wifi with the SteamLink. However, the latency is extremely high and the pointer jitters around too much to be useful. I'll be giving an update when I have both host and Steam Link connected through ethernet.
IIRC the cpu of the steam link isn't powerful enough to get this working. I recall some had good success using a raspberry PI with the dolphin bar and doing the rest with the link

I Have Dolphin bar working 100% with no lag. What is your router? have hardware acceleration?
