Yes I have the same issue. It works fine until I select the computer I want to link to then I get black screen. Once I got through the big picture screen but it was non-responsive and the link terminated after a couple of minutes.

If I go on the desktop it tells me it's streaming to Steam Link ok.

i have same issue also.
I also have this issue.

Any time the computer is running fullscreen the link shows nothing, but if I start a game that runs in a window, it runs fullscreen on my TV, as I would expect it to.

Literally anything other than fullscreen (including big picture mode) works fine.

Was just looking to see if anyone else was getting this. I was playing Star Wars The Old Republic (added to Steam in Big Screen) and suddenly the screen went black. I checked my main computer, game was running. Then, about 5 minutes into playing around with stuff - the screen finally came back. About 30 minutes later, bam - black screen again.

Link definitely seems kinda buggy... This was the first issue I had run into (other than getting non-steam games to work at all...)

When I setup the Steam Link and Controller today for the first time I also got a black screen at first when I started the The Crew Wild Run beta via Steam Link. Game was running on PC, but black screen on TV.

I initially set the resolution to 1920x1080 in the home streaming settings, but I have set it back to native resolution or automatic or something. Then I disconnected my 2nd and 3rd screen from my surround setup on PC. Started the game and set it up for 1920x1080. Updated my Nvidia drivers to the latest ones, then after a reboot I got the game running fine on Steam Link.

Only weird thing is that my Steam Controller didn't want to connect wirelessly neither to my Steam Link nor PC with the supplied wireless dongle. When I connected it to my PC with the supplied USB cable Steam Big Picture didn't see any controller so I did the "Add controller" which made me type a key sequence (A,Y,Y,A etc) on the controller what did work. After that it notified me of a firmware update but it didn't give me any prompt to update it. So I just disconnected the USB cable from PC and started playing that beta on the Steam Link downstairs. After a while I noticed the wireless dongle was still not inserted while I was playing wirelessly with the controller O.o

I'm having this issue now. Worked great yesterday, tried it today & nothing on the TV. Sound, but no video. Nothing has changed, just it worked before and now it doesn't.

Same here. It seems that it happens more on some games than others. (rocket league and orcs must die 2 happens constantly but nothing with soma yet). It also SEEMS to happen less when I turn the stream mode to fast instead of balanced (presumingly using less bandwidth). I have the link and the pc hardwired via ethernet straight into the router. When this happens the screen on the link will go black and flicker (sound may go in and out) but when I look at my PC screen everything is displayed fine. So, it appears to be an issue with just the link and not the steam client big picture mode.

I have something similar, it will cut out , usually when moving back to the big picture UI but sometimes in games, then nothing but going to the pc (which is displaying the picture fine) and stopping streaming will cause it to display the picture again.

I had the same problem. I solved it by following these steps:

- From the Steam Client, open the Settings page and select In-Home Streaming.
- Click on the Advanced Host Options button and disable hardware encoding.

Steam beta client solved this issue. Now it's running well

I was getting a black screen when trying to play GTA V, but a friend of mine suggested that it might be a problem similar to when people attempt to stream things on twitch etc. He suggested to run the game in windowed mode, or windowed-full screen. BOOM, IT WORKS! :beatmeat:

Mine started displaying a black screen after I turned off the beta client. I turned off the beta client because there was an issue with the steam controller not saving my profiles on the steam link. So I guess I just have to live with the controller issues until they get fixed.

I have same issue. Black screen, sound and steam controller works though. I also tried every option available in the in-home streaming settings, nothing changed.
