Audio lag
It seems that no matter how I change my streaming settings on the Link or on my host computer, I get about a half-second audio delay in BPM and in-game. Video is fine, just the audio is delayed. No stuttering or anything else.

I tried changing the audio output on my host computer to 16 and 32 bit 48000hz, then 16 bit 44100hz but nothing helps with the the delay.

I have an EVGA P67 motherboard with on-board Realtek audio. Windows 10 64. My computer and the Link are both connected to the same router via ethernet.

Any help would be appreciated. The Link is useless like this.

Minor update: The audio delay is much less when I first start streaming from my PC. The delay happens as soon as I launch a game and continues even after it closes.

Hm. I just realized that the lag only seems to happen in certain games. Broforce and King's Quest are perfectly fine while The Talos Principle is awful.

I guess streaming quality is on a game-by-game basis?

Pretty sure I'm having the same issue, after I launched Metro 2033 I noticed some audio lag too that persisted to the Steam Link menu. I'm running the connection wireless instead so at least I'm sure that's not the issue (although it is effecting my streaming and now I think I need to run a damn ethernet cable through the wall).

I'm going to have to try this on a less graphically intensive game, from what you're describing it sounds like games that require more data cause some kind of de-sync between the PC and Link's audio.

It's possible. I'll play around with more graphically intensive games to find out.

It bears mentioning that Talos runs well over 60 FPS on my computer.

I tried playing SOMA as my first game and the audio was horrendous.

Yeah I don't think it has anything to do with the PC power, my framerate is always over 60 fps.

Now I notice audio distortion and popping sounds in the background music in Big Picture mode. Sigh.

Oook see now I have a perfect game I use for example. Crypt of the Necrodancer is a rhythm based game, also doesn't require much power to run, and unfortunately it proved that EVERYTHING has the audio lag. Hell I even noticed it on the menu when I launched the Steam Link.

What I don't get is the video is 100% accurate, even if it does hiccup from streaming, but the audio is delayed.

I noticed that I get a significant BPM audio delay after playing a game that doesn't stream nicely, like Talos. About a half second, maybe more.

The BPM mode audio delay only goes away when I completely restart the streaming session.

I don't think this is something I can fix. More of a Steam problem.

Happening for me as well. Almost a full second delay between the gun firing on screen and the actual gunshot sound, but it's also really noticable on the steam menu. The input and video responsiveness is almost perfect, it's just the sound.

It's not my network as I tried streaming to my laptop from the same port and it was fine. It's just when it goes through the Steam Link. Even streaming to the laptop on wireless it's fine, just when I hook a screen up to the Steam Link.

RidiuM you might want to start another thread, this one is about AUDIO LAG. That's when the sound comes through just fine, but a second late.

EDIT: I only suggest it cuz I saw at least one other person complaining about popping sounds.

Another user discovered his TV has a "Game mode", which when switched on fixed his problem.

Many Tv's have built in video processing, which will delay the video up to half a second.. Game mode is supposed to turn off that kind of processing.
