How do I stream my PC to an LG TV

I have a WebOS LG TV that is connected to my 5ghz router thru WIFI.
I also have a desktop computer that is connected to the same router but with an ethernet cable.
The PC has its own screen and does NOT have Wifi
Is it possible for me to stream my desktop / games to the LG tv ? I wanted to buy a steam link but I noticed they discontinued it :/
The TV recognized my PC however it can only play specific media files thhtu a shared folder on the network...thats not what I want. I want streaming on my Windows 10 pro x64.
I noticed it supports IntelWidi, but thats ONLY for wireless laptops ...
The other solution would be miracast, but I cannot solve it because my PC cannot stream to a wireless screen...idk why ?

There is no Steam Link app for WebOS. You'd need something that uses a platform that Steam or the Steam Link app can run on and plug that into the TV. (Windows/linux based HTPC, Raspberry Pi, AndroidTV device, or Apple TV.)

the router may be set to use a vlan for wifi, separating it from the wired lan

check the routers wifi settings, disable wifi/lan isolation

Complain to the miracast people. They're the ones who decided it should be a wifi-only protocol.

That said, if you're laptop is working maybe connect the laptop to the TV and then stream to the laptop via remote play for games? The double streaming will probably cause quite a bit of extra delay though.

lg smart tvs are not smart enough to use 3rd party apps, only lg designed apps

use steam link hardware, or pi3 or better, android box, nvidia shield, htpc to be able to stream games from the host to the tv

@Xjph Ive was thinking about this too :D but my PC screen is 1080p and the laptop is 720p and then the wireless TV I want to stream to is 1080p again. It will be a bit strange but maybe I can force the laptop to be at 1080p idk :/ its really sad tho

the adapter on the pc will not make a difference, the tv has no way to recieve a live stream at all

Depending on the price of said wifi adapter, I would look into getting a device that will work with the Steam Link app. There are a lot of android box options, but be careful because the cheap ones might lag. I'm sure a simple web search for "best budget android box for Steam Link app" would probably get you looking at the right place.

not displaying whats given to it when its given

they may seem or look similar but nowhere near the same things

Don't actually expect a reply from _|_ that's context-aware or nuanced in any way. Case in point: The comment about SMB sharing when you're clearly talking about Widi/Miracast display mirroring. They will parrot basic Steam Link troubleshooting steps at you, regardless of what your actual problem is.

WebOS is trash. The hardware in LG's OLED lineup is plenty powerful... but the software cripples functionality. I'm really sick of walled gardens but this is even worse because there's hardly anything even in the garden. WebOS is just another piece of spyware, essentially. This would be a really simple, popular feature that would take them a couple days to develop... but it'll never happen. LG makes some great hardware but they're clueless on software and marketing. Instead of putting in any effort they suggest another piece of hardware to bypass their OS or another television. They just don't get it.

WebOS is not a walled garden, they have open source SDKs afaik. Originally WebOS was a lot better than android TV. It's sad that it never really took off and thus not a lot apps are developed for the platform. Technically I'd say they have a fast, reliable, beautiful platform (everything works with mouse, I don't want to miss magic remote). My LG TV is also from 2017 and it still works flawlessly fast in 2024 with all 4k HDR content compatible.
