Steam Link Cannot Find Sky Broadband Router
Hi, for some reason out steam link can pick up all other routers near our home accept our Sky router. Ofc when plugged into the net it is fine, but this means we cannot use it wirelessly which was the point. We changed security setting of the router to see if that was the issue, but it was not. We tried to return the item to game as it is useless to us for this reason, but as the box was open they fobbed us off.

Can anyone inform to why this is the case that Sky routers don't work wirelessly with the Steam Link and also why Game are being nabs ^^

Maybe your AP does not announce it's SSID, in that case you need to manually add the SSID.

Plug it with an Ethernet cable so that it can update its firmware. Maybe the newer drivers help.
A warning: at least one of your devices (PC or Link) need to be wired to get decent results.

I forgot to mention that the Sky router is a pile of cr*p. A Wireless N router with just 2.4Ghz support. Highly unlikely that you will get a good streaming performance with it.

Yeh I know its ♥♥♥♥. I already connected it via eathernet and updated the firmware. Restarted the device and still no difference. I will more than likely have to buy a compatable router to replace the sky crap box.

Try changing the channel from Auto to either 1,6 or 11. There is a chance that the router is using channels 12 or 13 and the Link might be only set to use channels 1 to 11 (USA channels)

Cool. Now you need to find £75 to buy a decent router. The TP-Link Archer C8 is probably the performance for the money champion at the moment.

however yes the stream quality kinda sucks :/ Seems to stable at times. So I will need a better router at some point. Again cheers Tucu for your help.
